As Chairman of the Board of Brindabella Christian College, in 2017 in line with our carbon neutral goals, our “Central” campus in Lyneham became home to our Award Winning Zero Net Energy (ZNE) 15 classroom Junior School Wing, supporting over 400 Year K-4 students, and operating as a fully self-contained energy neutral building housing over 100KW of Solar Panel capture and 26.4KWH of intelligent battery storage.
As the Chief Executive Officer of the Eagle Group of Companies across several private interests this entails oversight, professional service, and strategic advice across a range of specialized areas covering both the Corporate and Government sectors and spans across clean energy, technology, interactive arts, multimedia, human resources through to livestock, sports and recreation, education, and training.
It was in my capacity as CEO of one of our Group companies EVT Energy, in 2018 we underwrote the College's ZNE goals by donating $100,000.00 toward a newly awarded ACT Government Zero Emissions Grant to prototype an educational art form for the purpose of inspiring imagination and further the education of our students on reducing global carbon emissions.
Then in 2020 this took the form of a sculptured “Solar Tree” integrated with Intelligent Energy Storage and devised to allow for adding a range of independent stand-alone solar powered products and services.
The prototype was then designed to be a “non-grid connected” stand-alone source of clean energy and also engineered to support at least 2-5 days of autonomous energy supply in a single charge.
The solar tree incorporated being a diverse closed loop energy capture and variable source of clean energy system; whereby numerous additional items can be added externally such as Area Lighting, Security Surveillance, Solar BBQ's, Water Chillers and Device Chargers.
In 2021 EVT Energy commercialised the prototype AUS-E® “Solar Tree” and additionally developed, in conjunction with Greenplate Australia, Australia's first state-of-the-art intelligent Solar BBQ. The BBQ design was specifically commissioned by Brindabella Christian College to replace existing gas-powered BBQ facilities and assist in beyond achieving Carbon Neutrality.
The AUS-E® “Solar Tree” in its pure form, was additionally designed with removable branches incorporating solar panels which can be modified to include unique characteristics such as motorised sun-tracking and state-of-the-art tinted translucent glass panels.
The complete Zero Net Energy (ZNE) journey of clean energy on an educational platform, reviewing the various modes of energy capture, storage and effective supply to various devices is also integrated back into TV display screens or can be followed by students on an easy-to-use mobile application; all of which can be graphically set to depict the ultimate effect on the environment in real time.
In 2022 we are introducing world-class, solar-glass technology rooflines into all our College traffic-able walkways in clear glass tinted in our College colours of Red & Blue alongside introducing the latest technology in Rapid Charge totally "Off Grid" EV Charging Stations for our staff and students of the College.
These Solar Walkways and Charging Stations will further go toward reducing the College's Zero Net Energy Carbon Footprint, and make way for the Electric Vehicle revolution taking the world by storm.
With our "Off-Grid" 175kW up to 350kW high-powered charging technologies, compatible cars can add up to 300km of range in 15-20 minutes
2021 sees the launch of EVT Energy's Educational Solar Tree with numerous additional educational tools and Smart Apps to learn about Clean Energy
New World Wind's aesthetic "Wind Trees" capture energy from wind speeds of less than 8 KPH for integration into our ZNE clean energy targets.
Norway, the world’s leading country in electric vehicle adoption, saw plugin EV market share in October at an impressive 89.3%, up from 79.1% a year ago.
Allowing for Tesla’s absence (usual at the start of a quarter), this was in fact Norway’s highest ever month for plugin share. Diesel, petrol and plugless hybrids all recorded their lowest sales volumes of the modern era, each less than half the volume of a year ago. Overall the vehicle market volume was 11,579 units.
October’s combined plugin share of 89.3% comprised 70.1% full battery electrics (BEVs) and 19.2% plugin hybrids (PHEVs), which is a continuing shift towards BEVs over recent months.
PHEVs’ monthly sales for almost the last two years have typically been in the low-to-mid 2000 units, which only results in a ‘reasonable’ share of the market for PHEVs when available BEV volumes are constrained (e.g. Tesla’s early-in-quarter volumes).
Remembering that in September, PHEVs took just 13.9% share. The 2021 YTD cumulative share is for PHEVs 21.9%, and for BEVs 62.1%.
All plugless powertrains (diesel, petrol, traditional hybrids) saw their lowest monthly volumes of the modern era, each under 50% of the volume they saw in October 2020. Norway is truly approaching the end-game for sales of any passenger vehicle without a plug.

"For First Time BNEF’s analysis shows that companies, governments and households invested $303.5 billion in new renewable energy capacity in 2020, up 2% on the year, helped by the biggest-ever build-out of solar projects and a $50 billion surge for offshore wind. They also spent $139 billion on electric vehicles and associated charging infrastructure, up 28% and a new record. This positive investor mood helped electric vehicle companies raised some $28 billion from stock market investors in 2020, up from just $1.6 billion in 2019, according to BNEF estimates."
Bloomberg New Energy Finance also predicts $11.5 trillion will be invested globally in new power generation capacity between now and 2050.
"The majority of this, $8.4 trillion, will be in Solar Capture & Wind Capture Energy Management and Energy Delivery Technologies; with a further $1.5 trillion going to other zero-carbon technologies such as hydro and nuclear.
That investment will produce a 17-fold increase in solar photovoltaic capacity worldwide and a 6-fold increase in wind power capacity.
The levelized cost of electricity from new PV plants is predicted to fall another 71% by 2050, while that from onshore wind will drop by a further 58%; PV for bulk electricity generation, batteries and gas for flexibility, the future electricity system will reorganize around inexpensive renewables – coal will get squeezed out......."What's a product or service you'd like to show.
